First
of all I have to mentioned that all the stained galsses made by me
and my collaborators, are hand made, stained glasses not being a
series products.
Stained
glass making is requiring precision and patince, in its value
counting materials, very special ones (hand made glass) and a very
important part of hand work.
For
my works I use two clasic methods or techniques: lead and Tiffany
foil.

Stained
glass making in both techniques is realized by mounting glass parts,
previous cutted by different patterns, in lead or ... cositor..
Is a "clean" method, otherwords it avoid working with
lead, which is a toxic material when is processing.
Glass cutting could be not so exactly as in lead technique;
The stained glass do not need cementation;
The stained glass do not need rigidization;
It is the only method which is appropriate for Tiffany Lamps,
assuring a long life to lamps, unless its are not damaged by
mistake.
A
stained glass made using lead borders will look in a special way,
will have a distinctive charm.
There
are advantages and disadvantages when you have to choose between
one or another techniques, but doesn't matter which one you choose,
the final product is a quality one, which you can look at as an
investment, not as an expense.
To
make our works we use first class materials such as: "Spectrum", "Kokomo", "Wissmach", "Youghiogheny", "Bullseye", "Uroboros"
and "Armstrong", some of them used in his works also by L.C.Tiffany.
There
are pleny of studios which named their works as stained glass or
Tiffany Lamps, but which are, more or less, faulses. I am
reffering at simple glasses on which some "craftmens"
put some painting or plastic. They imitate quait well the textures
of an original special glass. The lead border are faked using
a... pasta
autoadeziva. This kind of glass never will have the status of a
stained glass, no matter how simple, not as artistic value, not as
a life time.
